Foreign nationals who intend to stay in Korea for more than 90 days from the date of entry must visit the immigration office, register their fingerprints, and obtain an Alien Registration Card (ARC) within 90 days of entry.(After receiving an ARC, you can open a bank account, activate a mobile phone service, etc.)
You must return your ARC when leaving Korea permanently after completing your stay, when obtaining permanent residency, or when acquiring Korean nationality.
If your ARC is lost or damaged, you must apply for reissuance within 14 days. </aside>

💳 Returning Your Alien Registration Card (ARC)

Those leaving Korea after completing their stay
Those who no longer need the registration card due to a change in their status of stay
Those who no longer require foreigner registration due to obtaining permanent residency or Korean nationality

Return it to the immigration officer at the airport or seaport when departing Korea.
It may also be returned to the relevant immigration office or local administrative office before departure.

Failure to return your ARC may cause problems when re-entering Korea in the future.
If your ARC has been lost, you may be required to submit a Loss Report and a written statement explaining the circumstances.
