🏦 How to Open a Bank Account in Korea

📌 Required Documents

• Alien Registration Card (ARC)
• Passport
• Korean Mobile Phone Number→ **You cannot open a bank account without a Korean mobile phone.**→ 👉 Please check [Korean Mobile Phone Registration Guide] first.

🏁 Procedure When Visiting a Bank

1️⃣ Take a Queue Number

• Take a number from the kiosk (touch screen) inside the bank and wait
• Move to the counter when your number appears on the display board

2️⃣ Fill Out Application Form

• Tell the bank clerk: "I'm here to make a bank book, check card"
• Fill in the following information on the application form:
  • 📞 Korean Phone Number
  • 📍 Address: (Example) Samcheok Dormitory, 346 Jungang-ro, Samcheok-si, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province

3️⃣ Set a Password

• When the clerk asks you to set a password, enter a 4-digit number you'll use
• This password will be used for transfers/withdrawals

4️⃣ Receive Your Bankbook and Card

• Make sure to secure your bankbook and ATM card (check card)
